Ours was quiet and very peaceful with just the four of us all day. The oven door broke though and we had to rig a coat hanger to keep it shut so we could cook Christmas dinner. Dinner consisted of a very untraditional Smothered Chicken Fried Steak (cooked in the regular way but then covered with a thin gravy and put into the oven for 30 minutes...yummy). As for our pictures today. Bradley is peeking through me trying to be creative with candles. Will's caught the humming birds that frequent Mom and Dad's porch and I'd say caught them very nicely. Jake and Rachel, I owe you a gift. If it's not there already, it's on it's way. And then we have quest photographer Colby in my slot today. Colby loves to take pictures of all the Christmas things around the house. He saw me doing this little thing with the Christmas lights on the tree and tried it several times. I like this one the best because the lights look like ornaments. So, as a background on the Christmas eve gift thing. Our Greatgranddad started this with his grandchildren (our mom). On Christmas eve, it's a race to see who can say Christmas eve gift first. For that lazy person who doesn't say it first, they owe the quick person a gift. It's a lot of fun for the grandkids because they plot to see if they can get the grown-ups first. The best all time Christmas Eve gifter is Will. He seems to always get everyone first. A few years ago, while Eric, the boys and I were in Paris, I was inside Notra Dame in Paris when my cell phone rang...it was Mom telling me Christmas Eve gift. Ooooo, had again.
